Za.Er. is a project launched in 2004 as an entrepreneurial model of sustainable economy. It provides skilled employment to more than 700 people, 80% of whom are women, working in the production sectors of shirts, apparel, and home linens.
Above-national-average wages, productivity and attendance bonuses, and safe working conditions are guaranteed.
After a period of training and know-how transfer to local staff, Za.Er. is now managed almost entirely by local personnel. The heads of the various units are Eritreans who have worked at Za.Er. for many years and have embraced the opportunities for personal and professional growth offered by the company. Over the years, this project has given rise to a new model of sustainable economy.
